Our Program

Our curriculum is built around one powerful belief:
Teens are capable of building real games — not just toy projects or drag-and-drop apps.

Unlike most coding programs that stop at syntax or only teach the basics, we go further. Our students learn what code is and how they can express their ideas through fully interactive projects using the same tools as professionals.

Our classes are designed to introduce students to the magic of game development — using real languages like Python and JavaScript, real tools like Godot and PixiJS, and real workflows that blend creativity with technical skill.

“Most programs teach you how to follow instructions. We teach you how to invent your own.”

Every course is led live, online, in small cohorts where students get personalized support, project-based feedback, and access to an encouraging creative community. By the end of our 8-week programs, students walk away with original games made entirely by them.

Here are just a few examples of what our students can create:

Why Our Curriculum Stands Out

Most teen coding classes walk students through small, pre-built projects with little room for exploration. While this might teach basic syntax, it often skips the critical thinking and creative problem-solving that makes coding powerful.

At Blackcat School of Interactive Arts, we take a different approach. Our students drive their own ideas from planning and designing to coding and polishing using industry tools like Python, JavaScript, and C# with Unity.

Instead of copying code line-by-line, students learn to break down challenges, make decisions, and build games that reflect their own ideas. They gain a deeper understanding of how code works and how to make it work for them — a skill that carries into any tech career.

All with the support of our Instructors passion and mentorship. This treats teens to think like real developers part of an internship and take full ownership of their creations.

While other programs may project quantity — like building 20+ micro-projects with prewritten templates — we focus on creativity and comprehension.

Every student in our program walks away with playable games they worked to build and fully understand, and a portfolio they can be proud of.

Whether your teen is a beginner or already exploring game development, our curriculum is designed to build confidence, independence, and real coding fluency — all while expressing creativity.
